Geodyne Company History
Judd Kemp founded Geodyne in 1978 after a solid professional career in the construction and trucking industries. Judd received a B.S. degree in Business Management from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Services of Geodyne in the early days included local Utah Trucking hauls of sand, gravel, and asphalt.
In 1990 Judd formed a related business, Geodyne Asphalt Products, which operated an asphalt mixing plant and supplied hot mix asphalt to government and contractor paving crews. Both companies were successful in spite of severe competition and challenging construction cycles of the 1980s and 1990s. Today Geodyne is a successful Utah-based Trucking Company that operates tanker, pneumatic, and general commodity divisions.
Judd Kemp passed away in October of 2012 after a nearly two year battle with cancer. His fight with cancer was like his life, met with courage, optimism, and great dignity. Judd’s legacy and entrepreneurial spirit continue in the many business ventures he founded. Geodyne Tranpsort continues to operate today with the values instilled by its founder of honesty, mutual respect, and business savvy.
